Scientific and Methodological Department

The Scientific and Methodical Department provides methodical and advisory support to the structural subdivisions of the Scientific Library in all directions of their activity, develops methodical recommendations, technological instructions, and other documents regulating the production activity of the Library, disseminates innovative experience, and coordinates the work on preparation in mass media. For the purpose of professional development, it organizes seminars, trainings, and courses for library specialists, conducts scientific research on current problems of modern university libraries, and organizes complex information programs like "Faculty Day,"  "Ask the Librarian,"  "Kitap Aptalygy," and others. The NMO participates in the organisation of cultural and educational events held in the Scientific Library and supports the activities of the Scientific Library as a zonal methodological centre for libraries of universities and colleges of the Astana and Akmola regions. Establishes professional relations with libraries of higher education institutions of the country within the framework of the Association of Libraries of Higher Education Institutions of Kazakhstan and participates in the development of programs of strategic development of libraries of higher education institutions of Kazakhstan. Since 2012, it has been organising the annual international scientific-practical conference «Library Interaction: Current Global Trends in the Development of University Libraries».
